Ready for the next European
adventure? This is a wonderful itinerary that we're sure you're going to enjoy.
We will start out in Amsterdam
for 4 nights. This is the most multi-cultural, multi-dimensional city in Europe. You’re in the Netherlands now
and everyone will find this city extremely beautiful and
interesting. Sure, there’s a reputation for an open attitude
and permissiveness, but in addition it’s quaint, colorful
and extremely scenic. Some of the tours that we planned
on our 2018 trip was a visit to the red light district,
a really great bicycling tour, we went to the Anne Frank
house, made a day of the hop on/ off canal bus which took
us to the Rijksmuseum. We organized a candlelight and wine
dinner cruise on the canal and of course we visited the
Van Gogh Museum. Since it will be spring in Holland you
can expect to see plenty of flowers all over. We will set
up a bus tour that will allow us to see and admire many
of the key sites of Holland including a visit to the the
world's biggest flower auction in Aalsmeer and to visit
Delft,
Rotterdam,
The
Hague and Madurodam.
From
there our trip will continue to Antwerp - just a
2-hour bus ride away. Antwerps broad, leafy boulevards
and outdoor cafes might evoke those of Paris, but in the
cobbled, 16th-century alleyways, Flemish townhouses and
sprawling, retrofuturist port, Antwerp shows its true face:
one which is all its own. The old city, within the arc once
formed by the 16th-century fortifications, has many narrow,
winding streets and old buildings. This area contains the
Cathedral of Our Lady, begun in the 14th century and restored
in the 19th and 20th centuries; it is one of the nations
finest Gothic buildings. It gained fame as a centre of the
diamond industry and for its legacy of fine arts. Antwerp
combines the grandeur of yesteryear with an urban vibrancy.
Its Grote Markt and cathedral, Scheldt riverbanks and cobbled
streets go hand in hand with a thriving nightlife, galleries
and art palaces. It is home to the Rubens House, Plantin-Moretus
Museum, Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA), the Museum
of Contemporary Art Antwerp (M HKA) and much more. A half-day
guided tour will be included as well as an optional bike
tour.
Our trip continues south
to Bruges,Belgium. Our bus ride is only 90 minutes and will
take us through some amazing scenery.
Bruges, known as the "Venice
of the north" is a bit like Amsterdam on a smaller scale. I'm sure you will fall in
love with this city. We’ll
have 4 nights to discover, stroll, relax and tour
this city that many have made their favorite. We'll enjoy
an optional canal cruise, bike ride and an optional half-day
trip to Ghent. We'll also offer a delightful river cruise
aboard the Lamme
Goedzak that will take us to Damme
with numerous delightful restaurants,
surrounded by medieval buildings such as the Town hall,
the windmill and the Church of Our Lady
